Nokia 5800 CPU Speed – Unbelievable!
Today, I made a CPU/Memory Benchmark with FPC Bench to my Nokia 5800.. The results are incredible!
Here are the results of Nokia 5800 Fibonacci Calculation;
16K Digit – 1 Second
32K Digit – 2 Seconds
64K Digit – 3 Seconds
128K Digit – 6 Seconds
256K Digit – 12 Seconds
512K Digit – 25 Seconds
….

Nokia N95 8GB is the most popular device on the market. But it’s calculating 16K digit in 4 seconds. The CPU of Nokia 5800 is unbelievablely fast.

N95 is five times faster in that test thanks to his Graphics Hardware Accelerator.

Yeah, CPU is very fast, but 3D speed is so poor that is sad

True and that’s sad, cause Nokia N97 won’t have Hw accelerator as well, so it will be very poor game exp

Yeah, maybe the CPU is fast, but when I click the white menu button, sometimes it takes 3 seconds to show it. Screen refresh is slow, like on those 386 CPUs 15 years ago.
It’s sad that Nokia can’t do right something that simple – showing 3D graphics.
On an iPhone 3G, which has only marginally faster CPU, everything on the screen FLIES, including animation. All the while Nokia DISABLE theme animations, because they, apart from looking like c*ap, slow down the phone even more.

The screen resolution on 5800 is as thrice as the screen resolution on N95 8GB. If they use the same GPU, it is normal it takes more time to display : 17 fps (N95 8GB) x 3 = 51 fps, which is close to 57 fps (N5800). Usually, the more the resolution is, the worse fps is.

well, the 5800 is a cool phone anyway.
it’s mainly for music! not gaming. If you want real portable gaming, go buy a PSP.
and comparing looks, 5800 XM is far more good-looking than N95.
